Generating Excitement
Elizabethtown College wanted to create a compelling admissions kit to send to potential candidates. The goal was to generate excitement surrounding upcoming Accepted Student Day events, and encourage candidates to attend so they could network with other potential students and learn more about why Elizabethtown would be a great choice to help further their education.
From guiding Elizabethtown College through the development of mechanicals and engineering process as they created the artwork, to safely preparing complex mailing data and sensitive personal information, we successfully completed the kitting and fulfillment of nearly 1,600 admission kits in-house.
The result was a beautifully printed, full-color custom corrugate shipper that included a knit hat (which the candidates were encouraged to wear to the event), along with an informational note card featuring event details. Upon opening the box and removing the note card, the candidate was presented with the knit hat, which had been rolled into an “egg,” and neatly tucked into a “nest” of shredded paper filler. This design was inspired by Elizabethtown College’s mascot – The Blue Jay.
At the centerpiece of a fully-integrated marketing campaign, this kit was the main driver of social engagement across multiple platforms. Recipients were naturally led to share their box opening experiences while “modeling” their new gear on Instagram and Facebook.
